How to find the right Claude skill for any job
By Ben Lane
Art: Vercel, from skills.sh
A skill is a set of written instructions Claude follows for one kind of job, such as writing a proposal, tidying a spreadsheet or drafting a client email. Someone has very often written a good one already: skills.sh, the public library Vercel runs, lists over 1.2 million of them, which is far too many to search by hand. Find Skills is the most installed skill on that library. You tell Claude the job you are working on, and it searches the library, checks each candidate's popularity, publisher and security results, reads what the skill would do, and installs the best one once you say yes. This guide takes you from one job your team does every week to a checked, installed skill and its first piece of work, in about ten minutes. We tried it on turning notes from a sales call into a written proposal: Claude picked a skill in under two minutes, and the skill wrote an eight-section proposal in under two more.
